Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines golf course in La Jolla is one of the best known golf courses mainly for hosting the 2008 U.S. Open where Tiger Woods won his third U.S. Open Championship after a grueling sudden death match.
This made him one of only two golfers in history to do so. Golfers enjoy this course for its deep ravines and classic championship golf holes. Don’t forget the breathtaking views of the coastline that provide the perfect backdrop for a day on the course. Torrey Pines also has one of the largest on-course golf shops and offers lessons given by PGA and LPGA pros with years of experience. You can reserve tee times online for your convenience.
Park Hyatt Aviara
Voted as one of the best resort golf courses in the nation by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, the Park Hyatt Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad is the only coastal California golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.
It is also known for its exquisite views of the Batiquitos Lagoon. The Park Hyatt boastsmore than 7,000 yards sculpted around hillsides and plenty of bunker and water challenges. Take advantage of golf club memberships or special vacation packages. If you need some extra lessons learn from one of the on-site PGA instructors for a little one-on-one.
Omni LaCosta Champion and Legends Courses
The Champion and Legends Courses at the Omni LaCosta Champion in Carlsbad have the distinction of being home to 37 PGA events. The Champion Course is known for its beautifully maintained fairways and tees.
A modern drainage system allows your equipment to stay dry when you’re in the trenches. Landscaped bridges and rolling hills add to the charm of this course.
The Legends Course is in a league of its own. It is more spacious than the Champion Course and is known for its traditional design.
Golfers will encounter strategic challenges that keep them coming back for more every time. The beautiful landscape and scenery only add to this course’s appeal.
Besides regular tee times and private lessons, both courses are also available for golf outings and tournaments.
The Grand Golf Club Del Mar at the Fairmont Del Mar
The Grand Golf Club Del Mar has bragging rights of being the only Tom Fazio designed golf course in San Diego.
Here you’ll find diverse bunkering and lush fairways as well as dramatic elevations with the Los Penasquitos Canyon serving as thebackdrop. The course is known for its particularly strong par 3s which is one of the toughest around. PGA instructors are also on hand for private lessons. The Golf Club is not open to the public and is reserved for members, resort guests and Villa owners of the Fairmont Del Mar.
