It’s time to get those last minute holiday activities in before Christmas! We’ve got three ideas for you that your whole family will love. One of them (The Broadmoor Hotel) even goes through the week after Christmas, so if you’re time crunched or needing something to keep the kids entertained on winter break, save this idea for after Christmas! Here’s our list:

Jellystone Park – Illumination Light Show
If you love holiday lights but also like to stay warm and cozy, the drive-through Holiday light show at Jellystone Park is for you! The family will enjoy the 250,000 lights, a light tunnel with synchronized music, a 40 ft. spinning Christmas tree. The whole experience is about a ½ mile long.
Afterwards, stop by the ranger station for pictures with Yogi Claus, hot chocolate & s’mores and a Christmas ornament craft (all reasonably priced).
If the weather’s not too cold for you, you can take a hayride through the light show. Snuggle under heavy blankets as you enjoy the crisp air and great lights! Hayrides leave every 45 minutes starting at 5 PM and ending with an 8 PM hayride. Cost is $10/person.

The Broadmoor Hotel
The Broadmoor Hotel is a favorite spot for holiday traditions because there is so much to do! Visit the life size gingerbread house and train. This year’s theme celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Pikes Peak Cog Railway Steam Engine.
Speaking of trains, the Santa Train is a hit with kids! Enjoy a whole new experience with Santa Claus and his elves as you take the Cog Railway to the North Pole at 4-Mile Siding. Take pictures with Santa Claus, interact with the elves, and enjoy some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.
For the more adventurous, take a hike to Frozen Falls. Less than one mile from The Broadmoor, Seven Falls is one of Colorado’s most captivating natural wonders during all seasons of the year, but it is especially dazzling in the winter when it is frozen!
Finally, check out the Broadmoor’s 12 Days of Christmas. A million lights twinkle in the frost of a winter night. Wide-eyed wonders unveil themselves at every turn – a life-size gingerbread train, elegantly decorated trees; music, games, activities and laughter make it feel familiar and remarkably like being home. This event starts on December 21st and goes through January 1st.
