Iron Mountain – Iron Mountain is a small mountain in Park City, with a 1.7 mile hike to the summit. Although much of the mountain is private, the trail offers plenty of gorgeous views to the public. The trail is a bit steep and rocky in some places, but is still considered an easy enough trip for the family. You will be surrounded by majestic pines and aspen trees on your trip up the mountain, but there are plenty of breaks in the forest to enjoy your view of the city from above!
Silver Lake Trail – Silver Lake Trail is a tranquil 1.6 mile hike each way, with great views. It is a foot-traffic only trail, which can be nice in the Deer Valley since many trails become overrun with mountain bikers. One unique factor in this hike is that you don’t necessarily have to hike both ways. You can take a chair lift up the mountain, and then hike back down, or if you hike up the trail, you can take the lift to the bottom for free! The trail is bordered by aspen and fir on many stretches, and you will find beautiful wildflowers as well.
Jenni’s Trail – Jenni’s Trail is a pleasant 3 mile hike, with a very gradual grade that is great for most hikers. Stay aware on this trail though, as mountain bikers will likely be ascending or descending on the trail as well! There are many trails in this area that meet up and can completely change your hike, which is great for those who want to shorten or lengthen their hike once they start.
Tombstone Trail – Tombstone Trail is a 1.6 mile hike each way that follows a creek through a gorgeous pine and fir forest. Take a gondola to the starting point of the trail, and begin your beautiful hike. The trail ends at the top of Tombstone Lift and offers some amazing views from above of the DreamScape Basin. Grab lunch at the Red Pine before making your trek back down the trail!
