Located in Alameda, Bladium is a great party place for little sports fans. Whether your little (or not so little) one is into rock climbing, soccer, dodgeball, flag football, basketball, or volleyball, Alameda’s Bladium lets you put choose your own activity and you get exclusive use of the space.
Parties include:
- One hour exclusive use of your party’s “activity” area: field, rock wall, court, or inflatable party zone.
- Another hour of fun in the kids party area, with an inflatable activity.
- 4 large pizzas, drinks, and paper products.
- Fun and energetic activities facilitated by a Bladium Party Host.
- Coordination of your event, including greeting guests and clean up.

Habitot Children’s Museum (Berkeley)
A great option for children 5 and under, at Habitot the littles can drive an ambulance, crawl through a worm tunnel, shop for groceries in the pretend market, and have fun with the indoor water stream.
The whole Habitot space can be yours exclusively for you and your guests at a surprisingly affordable price; Museum rentals are available whenever the Museum is closed to the public.
If you prefer, you can rent just a private birthday party room or the separate classroom annex for a unique hands-on art and play experience for your toddler or preschooler and friends.
Packages can include food, party favors, and more. Prices start at $175 for weekdays and $225 on the weekends.

If you’ve got a budding ballerina, this is THE place for your child’s birthday! The moment your child and their guests arrive at the Berkeley City Ballet studios, they will be enveloped in a world of ballerina magic and fun. From dressing up in tutus and taking a mini-ballet class, to starring in a personalized Birthday Ballet performance!
Prices range from $200 – $300 for up to 10 people ($15 per additional party children) and there are several packages to choose from, along with optional extras.

Adventure Playground, located in Berkeley, is a wonderfully unique outdoor facility where staff encourage children to play and build creatively. It’s designed for kids age 7 and older, and offers the chance for kids to climb on the many unusual kid designed and built forts, boats, and towers. They can also ride the zip line or hammer, saw, and paint.
Adventure Playground has been written up as a top 10 playground in National Geographic, and written about in the Chronicle, the Boston Globe and Newsweek as one of the Top 5 play spaces in the country.
Note: it’s closed on city holidays and closed when it’s raining, since this is an outdoor only playground.

Athletic Playground was designed for people of all ages, including adults! When you walk into Athletic Playground at any given time, you might find people climbing up and down aerial silks, swinging on trapezes, balancing on their hands, learning how to creatively vault over obstacles, or spinning multiple hula hoops around various limbs to funky music.
Book a birthday party at Athletic Playground and you’ll get a private group class with instructor who will customize movement and mind-body awareness class according to the number of individuals, age range, and interests of the party. Space will be reserved for cake and refreshments in the lobby during open play time slot.
Birthday party prices start at $220 for 3-6 guests.

Junior Center of Art and Science
If you’ve got kids who love to be creative, the junior Center of Art and Science is a great option for a birthday party in East Bay! Your kids will be enthralled with building robots out of recycled products with glue guns or making their own princess crowns and jewelry. Older kids will love pottery painting and glazing or painting, or the Rocket Science party.
There are six themed parties overall, that feature hands-on, instructor-led project with games and demonstrations for 5- to 12-year-olds. The party room will be decorated and has gorgeous views of Lake Merritt.

Okay, if you’ve got pre-teen or teen boys who like to play video games, this option is for you. Book a party in the Teen Room at the Matt Jimenez Community Center and your kids will think you are the coolest mom or dad ever!
Birthday party packages in the Teen Room include unlimited use of Teen Room, which is equipped with PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii consoles, a pool table and a ping pong table.
There are several packages to choose from, including a lower priced one that allows you to bring your own food and cake.
