There’s nothing like a wine tasting to usher in any season, and November is no exception. Transition from Fall 2015 to the winter holidays with a visit to one of several wineries in the Placerville area.
- Boeger Winery
- Charles B. Mitchell Vineyards
Boeger Winery boasts a colorful backstory that’s almost as juicy as its grapes. Begun as a family vineyard during the California Gold Rush, the Placerville winery soon hosted fruit and nut trees as well. The Boeger family business prospered as a supplier of goods to 19th-century gold miners but shuttered its doors along with other wineries during Prohibition.
You’ll be glad Greg and Sue Boeger revived the vineyard decades later when you try the sought-after Barbera or one of many other amazing varietals and blends. After enjoying a standard or premium wine tasting, pick up a bottle and enjoy it with cheese, crackers and salami at a picnic table. The beautiful vineyard offers incredible natural beauty, so bring a camera to capture the redwoods, pond, stream and on-site 19th-century wine cellar this November. Boeger Winery also offers tours and is available for all your 2015 holiday events.
