There’s no better way to spend a gorgeous October day than riding the best mountain bike trails in the Park City area. With so many local mountain biking enthusiasts in 2015, a wealth of fantastic trails is pretty much a given. Check out our list of the area’s best.
- Black Forest
- Deer Valley
Those who relish a challenge are in for a rare treat at the Black Forest. Though you may need some recovery time afterward, we’re pretty sure seasoned riders will appreciate the serious inclines on this 15-mile lariat loop. You’ll experience 2300 feet of inclines with altitudes topping out at around 9000 feet. Fallen trees, rugged terrain and a site that’s very hard to find make this a destination for only the most intrepid cyclists.
It’s easy to see why Deer Valley is one of the most popular Park City bicycle trails. With annual alterations and additions, trails are well-maintained. However, you’ll need a map to stay on course; get one at the ski resort. If you’re not in the mood to make an arduous upward trek, you’re in luck. Hop on a lift and enjoy a downhill ride that’s varied and interesting. The lift operates on Wednesdays through Sundays, so make sure you set aside a Fall 2015 day when you want a fun ride without an uphill climb. Climbers can enjoy fabulous October rides on Deer Valley’s trails free of charge, but use caution in your choice of trails. The lift-access gravel road is a good, safe bet on weekends.
Whether you opt for hardcore, no-frills thrills, downhill excitement or something in between, you’re sure to find it on these and other Park City bicycling trails. Enjoy the rest of October and stay fit by exploring these exciting Park City biking hot-spots in 2015.
